DATELINE.......DEC. 6, 2007
Along with the usual pizza and elections we finally got some snow! Again, cudos to Ken Reed, for the pizza, drinks and cookies. Elections this was a surprize to no one, by a "yawn" landslide I was relected again. Haven't decided my vice yet. This year for some crazy reason you guys wanted to do a Regional again. I've contact our Regional Coordinator and it appears we will get it, more to come later. Mike Smith and Phil Gladstone have kicked in to be contest chairmen. Again this last year we member raffled a couple more large, expensive kits, again donated by Earl' Hobby Hanger in Logan, and again, thanks alot Jeff and Sean!!! This time Lavar Lowther won the big Tamiya F-16, another armor guy winning an aircraft, is it just me or...ah nevermind! Next year looks to be better than this year, so if you come out, thanks, and if you haven't, than come on out!! ........Jim Sorensen

DATELINE.......DEC. 7, 2006
Pizza and elections again. I want to thank Ken Reed again for arranging the pizza party and adding salads this year. We had a good turnout. Oh ya, besides pizza we also held our annual elections. Besides myself running again, Dennis Brown threw his hat in the ring. Turnout was good and the voting was close. But, looks like I'll get another turn at the presidency. I asked Dennis Brown to be my Vice and he accepted. I also twisted Ken Reed's arm to be treasurer one more time. I am still looking for a "victim" I mean volunteer, to be "Contest Chair"!. Anybody seen Mike Smith?. This year ended with the highest club membership ever, with 29 members. Again, Jeff Earl of Earl's Hobby Hanger, Logan Utah, came threw with an Academy 1/32 F-18D for auction. George Miconi beat me out and took it home for $110.00. The amount going to the club's treasury. Thanks again Jeff. Looking forward to a great year, what with the club's funds looking better each year and the contest set for September 22, at the Union Station in Ogden, Utah. As a commercial on the tube says "Membership has it's rewards". So, come out first Thursday of each month and join us........Jim Sorensen

DATELINE.......FEB. 2, 2006
One of the largest turnouts for one of our monthly meetings. I counted 33. We also have one of the largest membership numbers, 25 members. The large membership numbers are due in no small part to Jeff and Sean Earl of Earl's Hobby Hanger, Logan Utah, offering some spectacular members only raffle items. Last month it was a $25.00 gift certificate, and this month it was the new 1/32 scale academy F-16! Thats right, the $100, 1/32 scale Academy F-16. Well, I even had to get into that one. The winner was of course a 1/72 scale builder named Mike Smith! Sean has promised more to come, so now a good time to join if you haven't already........Jim Sorensen

DATELINE.......DEC. 1, 2005
Elections we held, and the current presidency was unanamously re-elected, or shanghied, I couldn't tell which. Discussions were held concerning location of our annual show and contest and It was decided because of the hassle we got from the Davis Convention Center, we'll return to the Ogden Train Station. Date is now being set........Jim Sorensen

DATELINE.......OCT. 7, 2005
Discussions were held at the club meeting, Oct 6, 2005, concerning the annual show and contest, that was held Sept 23, 24. Because of the rising cost of fuel, the attendance was the lowest in several years, although vendor attendance was one of the largest ever. In an effort to reduce the cost of the event, we are going to reduce it to one day, and the date has been tenatively set for Saturday, September 23, 2006. Because of the changes we've made in registration, which have made it quicker and easier, we feel confident we can handle all entries on Saturday morning. Changes have be made concerning the time we start and stop taking entries. We have the venue from 8:00am till about 10:00 pm. Other small changes are going to be made such as changing the wording for the "Sponsored Awards". They will now be called "Sponsor's Choice", also the word "best" will be drop from the award's description. This was commented on as being confusing and not always reflecting the "best" of the particular subject. Another small change is to the "Special Awards", such as "Best Aircraft" or "Best Automobile", these will be restricted to a class subject only, examples: aircraft, figures, armor, ships, automobiles, etc. Any comments or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. E-mail them to pres@nusma.org........Jim Sorensen

DATELINE.......AUG. 2, 2002
Discussions were held at the Aug. 1 meeting, to consider changing the club's name. After the discussion, a vote was taken and the idea was adopted. The new name is the Northern Utah Scale Modelers Association. A new logo was also adopted and is displayed on the association's website........Jim Sorensen
